About me

I'm a writer of fiction who loves to daydream the fantastic into life. My diverse writing interests range from urban fantasy/paranormal to psychological thrillers, always with a generous sprinkling of romance...

Yes, I've dallied with other genres too! My first love was historical romance. I grew up reading Georgette Heyer (for the uninitiated, many would call her the Tolkein of historical romance) and I have an almost-completed historical romance manuscript (75,000 words) cluttering my hard drive. In its current form, it'll never see the light of day. Trust me on that.

In this blog I've recorded my journey to firstly finding a literary agent, and now a publisher. I hope reading about my experiences is of some use to others who are also traveling this path.

I'm represented by Sophie Hamley of the Cameron Creswell agency, and my first novel, Dark Child, was released as a serialised e-book between 1 Feb and 1 June 2013 by Momentum, the digital publishing division of Australia's Pan Macmillan. Dark Child is also available as an Omnibus collecting together all 5 episodes and will be available in print from June 2013.

You'll notice if you look around here that I'm a bit of an infrequent blogger these days. You can also get updates on what's happening with my writing and books on Facebook here, or come and say hi on Twitter. I've also got a website where I can be found blogging occasionally, and for the next little while at least, I'll sometimes cross-post between here and there!
